 The Space

207 W Hastings St

During the 1940s, the basement of the Dominion Building was converted into a bustling diner with stainless steel and miles of curvy lunch counters. In 2008, Nuba partners Victor Bouzide and Ernesto Gomez took a leap of faith and moved their thriving 12-seat take-out operation across Hastings Street into this roomy underground space, which has a 60+ seat capacity and a 36-foot bar.

The original Nuba restaurant was inspired by an independent and modern Beirut during the 1940s. At the time, the city was an intellectual and cultural mecca, considered the Paris of the Middle East. At Nuba in Gastown we offer the same menu at lunch that made us famous for fresh and flavourful food. After 5 p.m. the lights dim and Nuba’s nightly adventures begin with an evening menu that captures the traditional Lebanese style of sharing with new and innovative dishes.
