Unchecked by fashion, Nuba in Kitsilano is a Lebanese taverna, like one might have visited back in the days before the civil war, somewhere along Lebanon’s stretch of Mediterranean coastline. The cavernous complexity of the restaurant’s interior unfolds over multiple levels through small, low-ceilinged nooks, and up and down numerous staircases. These enigmatic rooms open out around an expansive glass-covered courtyard inhabited with plants and benches.
