Recently, Vancouver Magazine talked to notables from our city about what their favourite places to eat are. Singer, songwriter, and all around nice and talented guy Dan Mangan selected Nuba. The man had this to say about our addictive cauliflower dish, Najib’s Special.
Nuba is a block away from my studio—if I’m in recording mode, I probably eat lunch there two to three times a week. Everything is pretty great, but I always come back to Najib’s Special. I’m guessing it’s baked cauliflower covered in some kind of methamphetamine. For what’s become a bit of a local chain, Nuba manages to make each location a little unique, which is refreshing.
Thanks for the shout out, Dan! We'll return the favour and tell everyone to listen to your fantastic album Club Meds and check out Are We Cool Now? at the Cultch, which is inspired by your music and runs until October 10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dAWPsrraBk You can grab a copy of Vancouver Magazine's Food Issue from news stands now.
